Our final Mom & Baby Yoga class

Easton and I attended our last Mom & Baby yoga class on Wednesday. We were a bit sad that the class is ending, but most of the babies (including Easton) are quite mobile now, so the Moms spend more time running around after the kids than actually doing any yoga. We decided instead of paying to get together for the babies to play, we will just all form a playgroup. Our first playgroup is scheduled for next week at Casey & Vaughn's house. Easton and I are very excited that we'll be able to continue to have weekly get-togethers with our yoga friends!

Here are some photos from our final class - of course I could never get a shot with all of the babies looking at the camera, but there were still some cute pics. Enjoy :-)

Tons of guests and family pics!

We've had a lot of activity at our house over the past few weeks. The weekend of August 13-15, my friend Chrystal and her family headed down for a visit. Chrystal takes wonderful pictures and she came to do Easton's 6 month photos as well as some family portraits on the beach! In addition to Chrystal's family, my parents, brother Bryce, brother Jacob and sister-in-law Ashley also headed down .We had a house full, but it was tons of fun! To see the pictures that Chrystal took, visit http://www.chrystalsimpson.smugmug.com/ and choose the "Daniel/Jones Families" album.

In addition to the photo session, we also had tons of fun! On Friday night we had a delicious seafood dinner at Crabby Mikes. Saturday included some of us visiting the beach, while others relaxed around the house. Before pictures on Saturday night we had a tasty chicken fajita meal. After the photo session we had ice cream sundaes and the adults had some "adult beverages" :-) Sunday included a quick trip to CVS and my Mom and I taught Chrystal all of our couponing tricks. She is definitely my new couponing prodigy!!!

Chrystal has two beautiful daughters, Kinsley and Ava Graye. Easton loved having the girls around and they were so good with him. They played with him, showed him books and entertained him the entire weekend. We were sad to see Chrystal's family leave, but all good things must come to an end, right? We managed to snap some pics before they headed out on Sunday afternoon .... and we're definitely looking forward to their next visit!

My parents took some vacation time and stayed with us through Sunday Aug 22nd. Our week consisted of a lot of good food, relaxing, playing with Easton and of course some coupon shopping! I also had a few doctor appointments throughout the week, so it was nice to have my parents there to take care of Easton. After spending 9 days together it was evident that both my parents and Easton were sad for the visit to come to an end. But thankfully we all live closer now, so the visits are more frequent!
Here's a cute video of Easton entertaining himself (and my Dad & me) - who needs toys when you can have this much fun???? :-) Enjoy!

Easton crawled!

We've reached an exciting milestone .... Easton crawled tonight! He's been rocking on his knees for a few weeks now, so we knew it would be happening any day now. Tonight we "teased" him with a few toys out of reach and he inched towards them. He didn't go far, but it was definitely crawling - so we'll mark 8/6/10 as the official "FIRST CRAWLING" day :-)

Of course I ran for the camera - here are a few photos and a short video of Easton crawling .... time to babyproof the house!

Getting in position...

....has his eye on the "prize!"

Whew .... crawling is HARD work!

Watching a little TV once he captured his toys :-)

Posing for the camera .... he was so proud of himself! :-)

My 15 year class reunion 7-31-10

My 15 year class reunion was last weekend. We had a cookout at Dan Daniel Park on Saturday July 31st. It had rained all day so the turn-out wasn't quite what we hoped, but it was still nice to catch up with former classmates and see each other's children. Here is a picture of some of my high school friends.

Jason had forgotten this, but his grandmother had purchased a memorial brick for him in the Veteran's Memorial, which was located right next to our cookout shelter. We found his brick and took a few photos:

Easton's 6 month doctor appointment

We visited the doctor yesterday for Easton's 6 month appointment. He weighed 19.02 lbs and was 28.5 inches tall. His weight is averaging out for his age, but his height is still off of the percentage chart. I guess he gets his height from one of his grandfathers because it definitely doesn't come from Jason or me :-)

Easton has hit all of the milestones - he is rolling around easily, is interested in and eating solid foods and has begun rocking back and forth on his knees in an attempt to crawl. He can move backwards, just not forwards quite yet. The only area of concern was that he doesn't sit up on his own. He can sit up when placed in position, he just seems to prefer his back or belly. The doctor said since all of his other motor skills are on target then there is no need to worry at this point, but that we should encourage him to sit as often as possible.

Easton also got some shots, which I swear is harder on me than it is him. He cried for less than a minute then seemed to forget the whole ordeal even happened. He's such a little trooper!

I forgot to take my camera, but I did manage to snap a photo with my phone. We had a long wait (imagine that - a long wait at a doctor's office!) so I set up an area for Easton to play on the floor. Here he is - doesn't it look like he is waving? :-)
