Our Danville Visit 7/12 through 7/17

Jason had some time off, so we decided to spend last week in Danville. We made the drive on Monday and arrived in time for a tasty dinner that my Mom prepared for us.

Tuesday was a super busy day ... we met Stacy for lunch at Tokyo Grill, made a quick stop by Martha's work to deliver her some lunch, visited Mr. Archer (Easton's middle namesake), then visited my Grandma and aunts Bettie & Lois. We then headed home, and my friend Jonathan's mom, Carol, came by to visit and meet Easton for the first time. It was a long & busy day, but it was great to see so many people that we care about.

On Wednesday I had some "me" time ... I went to see my friend Chrystal to get my hair cut, highlighted and my eyebrows waxed. After my hair appointment, I met my Mom out for some shopping. On Wednesday night, we met up with Martha, Roger & Anne Rylee for some Mexican food.

Thursday, Easton and I spent the day with my aunt Bettie while Jason took care of some projects. We started by visiting Kathy, a friend of Bettie's, at the bank so she could meet Easton. We then had lunch at the Coffee Emporium. After lunch we visited the DAV & the Nestle Company Store. Finally, we met up with my mom to check out a new consignment shop out in Brosville. It was a really cute shop called Victoria Catherine's, if you live in the Danville area you should definitely check it out. On Thursday night we had dinner at the new Kickback Jack's with Jason's grandma, Agnes & his mom Kathy.

My mom was off of work on Friday, so we headed out with my aunt Lois for some more coupon shopping. We grabbed some deals at Food Lion, CVS and Target. We tried to have dinner at the new Fender's restaurant but the wait was too long (we had Easton with us - no way he'd make it through an hour wait) :-) We decided to go to Tokyo grill again ... Jason's friend Randall also met us there.

On Saturday it was time to pack up the car and head home. On our way back home we stopped in at Longhorn to visit Bryce. We also swung by Jacob & Ashley's house for a quick visit as well. It was a great trip .... we stayed so busy that I forgot to take many pictures. Here are a few that I did manage to get:

My Dad grabbed a last minute nap with Easton on Saturday morning before we left ....

Couponing ... it's a family event! :-)

The whole family was involved in couponing today --- Jason, Easton & I had several errands to run, so we took advantage of being out in town and picked up several deals. We visited Food Lion, CVS and the Commissary and here's what we got:

24 SOBE waters
16 boxes Marcal tissue
6 10pk Capri Sun
4 panty liners
3 Milky Way Caramels
2 Pasta Sauce
1 Folgers coffee
1 frozen mixed veggies
1 frozen onions
3 lbs of chicken

Retail cost of these items with tax is $101.69 .... we paid $9.79 (that's including tax!!!). That is a savings of 90%!

How did we do this? The SOBE waters came from CVS - they are running a BOGO special on the waters, and I had BOGO coupons. This equals free waters! (just pay tax). CVS is also running a buy 2 CVS panty liners for $1, get $1 ECB back. So free panty liners! They also have their Mars brand candy bars for 50cents this week, and I received 3 50cents off Milky Way Caramels = free chocolate!

The Marcal tissues came from $1 off Marcal coupons found in the Sunday paper coupon inserts. We got these at the commissary, so NO TAX, we only had to pay the surcharge of 63cents for 16 boxes of tissue!

The remaining purchases came from Food Lion .... free frozen onions, 7cents CapriSuns, 47cents pasta sauce and $1 chicken & mixed veggies can be bought with the current FLIP (Food Lion Internet Printable) coupons. The Hershey bar was free with a Food Lion mobile coupon, and the Folgers was also purchased with a mobile coupon. After coupon and MVP sale the coffee was less than $2. Definitely the most expensive purchase of the day, but much cheaper than regular price :-)

It was definitely a fun day - I am looking forward to our next family couponing adventure!!!

Bath Time Fun

Now that Jason is home, we've developed a bit of a bath time routine. One of us will bathe Easton while the other sets up the area to dry Easton off, do his lotion massage, dress him for bed, clean his ears and nose and brush his hair and teeth..... wait, I mean gums :-) It's become a family event and we look forward to spending time together while pampering and playing with our little man. He really seems to enjoy all of the attention & likes to splash in the water, play with his rubber ducky and roll around while we get him ready for bed.

We realized the other day that it's been quite a while since we've taken any bath time photos. Here's a few pics of Easton getting all cleaned up! (he's going to kill me one day for these!!!)

July 4th weekend 2010

We celebrated Easton's 1st Fourth of July! Unfortunately his bedtime is 8pm so he missed the fireworks - but Easton had a great weekend surrounded by family for the long weekend. Here's a recap of what we did:

Mama and Daddy arrived late on Thursday evening. On Friday, Mama & I had a day of shopping while the boys (Jason, Daddy & Easton) hung out at the house. We cooked dinner on Friday evening at our house, then Jacob & Ashley joined us later Friday evening. On Saturday, Jake, Jason & Daddy tried to go on a fishing trip but it didn't work out due to some mechanical issues with the boat. When they returned Ashley, Mama & I checked out some of the nearby beach shops and stores. Mama & Daddy kept Easton on Saturday evening so the "big kids" could go out for dinner & drinks. We had dinner at Rick's in Snead's Ferry, then checked out a few of the bars in Surf City.

Sunday was spent relaxing, doing more shopping & we said our good-byes to Jacob & Ashley. My parents left today, but first they treated us to lunch at a nearby restaurant called Hollands. Usually I am really good about taking a lot of photos, but for some reason we did not even pull out the camera until today. Here are a few pics of Easton all dressed up in yet another baseball outfit :-)
