Father's Day Weekend 2010

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend ... my Mom, Dad and Popey Daniel arrived on Friday night to spend the weekend with us. On Saturday, we planned a surprise party for Jason to welcome him home & to celebrate his 1st Father's Day. The biggest part of the surprise was when Jason's Mom & Grandma arrived - he had no idea they would also be visiting for the weekend! We were joined by our friends Mary, Emily, Matt & Ryder & everyone enjoyed hotdogs that were prepared on Jason's new grill (that was his father's day gift) :-)
The next day Jacob & Ashley drove down to celebrate Father's Day with us. We used the opportunity to take tons of pictures of many of our family members together. Here are some of the best shots from the weekend!
Jason & Easton - posing in their silly Hawaiian shirts :-)

Easton with his Dad, Pappy Jim & Great-Grandpa Daniel on Father's Day

4 generations - Popey Daniel, Pappy Jim, Easton & me

4 generations - Easton, Jason, Memaw & Great-Grandma Agnes

Watching TV with Uncle Jake - they both look like they're in a trance! :-)

Easton with his Pappy - looks like Easton may have gotten into the beer! (just kidding ....) :-)
Playing with Uncle Jake - how sweet!

Auntie Ash is covering Easton's ears so he won't be corrupted by what Jake is saying :-)

1st beach day with Daddy!!!

Easton, Jason and I went to the beach yesterday - this was Easton's first trip to the beach with his Daddy! We met up with my friend Emily and her family ... we met Emily in our "Mommy & Baby" yoga class. It was nice to have a chance to spend time with new friends and get to know them better. Everyone had a great time - although Easton is still a bit afraid of the water. We'll have to work on that! He loves lounging and napping on the beach. (under a tent and covered with sunscreen, of course) :-)

Here are some pics from our day, it was a great time and we look forward to heading back again this week! Oh, how I love living 3 miles from the beach!!!!

Jason & Easton - 1st time @ the beach together ... there will be many more times to come!

All of us at the beach - we couldn't get Easton to look at the camera!

What a sweet Daddy - keeping his little boy shaded from the sun!

Whew - it's been a loooooong day! :-)

Welcome Home Daddy!

As many of you know, Jason has been gone for the past 2 months - he was attending a Radio Chief training for the Marines in California. His training is over and he returned home yesterday!!! I must brag for a minute - Jason did very well at his training. He was one of 3 of his classmates to pass the NetPlus certification test. Also, he finished 4th in his class (out of 26 Marines). His final average was a 93. We are so proud of him!!!

Easton and I were so happy to see Jason and Jason was thrilled to be home as well. I got several pictures of Father & Son being reunited .... what a sweet & priceless moment it was! Jason was amazed at how much Easton had grown and developed over the past few months. Check out their reunion below:

Hmmm....this guy looks & sounds familiar!

Let me feel your face & check you out ...

Oh yeah - I know this guy .... he's my Daddy! :-)

This morning ...getting kisses from Daddy

Jason & his "mini me" posing for the camera :-)
It's a bird, it's a plane ..... it's EASTON!!!

Easton also experienced another "first" yesterday .... he tried green beans! Jason had a new experience as well - his first time feeding Easton with a spoon. :-) I have a cute video of that experience, but am having trouble uploading it....will try again later when I have some free time.

We are SO SO happy to have Jason home with us .... we are heading to the beach today for the 1st time as a family, look for pics of that soon :-)

4 month checkup for Easton

Easton had his 4 month checkup on Monday May 24th - he got a great report from the doctor. His weight, height and head circumference all remain in the 90th to 95th percentile. His head measured 17.5 inches, he weighed 17.05 lbs and he was 27.5 inches long. He's gained over 2 lbs and grown 5 inches since his 2 month appointment!!! What a big, healthy boy!

We were scheduled to get his 4 month vaccinations; however, our doctor's office was out of a few of the shots. Instead of sticking him twice, they referred us to the Marine base doctors to have all of the shots done at once.

We're so thankful that Easton is growing and developing so well, thanks for keeping up with his progress.
