Our final Tigers game (maybe?) and interesting grocery shopping experience:-)

Jason and I attended the Tigers vs. Rays baseball game today at Comerica Park. It was a bit chilly, the high was only 64 degrees. Luckily the sun was out, so it wasn't too cold or uncomfortable - but I still can't get used to such cold temperatures in AUGUST! Which reminds me, snow will be here before we know it .... ugh, that's a whole different topic.

Anyway, the game was quite slow-moving until the 7th inning - then the Tigers came back with a 3-run home run & won the game 4-3. This was the last pair of the season tickets that Jason and I had purchased, so it's technically our last game of the season. UNLESS - the Tigers make it into the playoffs, which is very possible. Then we might have to shop around for more tickets :-) We just love baseball, can't you tell?

A funny (but unrelated to baseball) story ... I honestly think Easton took over the grocery shopping last week ... I usually stick to my list and only buy what is needed, and have been very picky about buying healthy foods. I've even switched to organic milk and eggs since finding out I was pregnant. BUT, when I got home from the grocery store last week I had all of these "kiddie foods" in the bags. I had two boxes of those Flavor-Ice Popsicles that come in the plastic tube, KoolAid Koolers (kind of like CapriSuns & only enough drink for maybe 3 sips!), Soft Batch chocolate chip cookies, several packs of small fruit/gelatin cups (like you'd put in a child's lunchbox) and mini-powdered donuts! All items I haven't eaten since I was in elementary school! And to make matters worse, I didn't have anything you could consider a meal, just a bunch of random canned goods, cheese & the fore mentioned bread & eggs. My only explanation is Easton overtook my mind while I was grocery shopping and got all the items that HE really wanted. Too funny!

Memorial Weekend 2009

Jason & I have had a busy weekend filled with some fun & a lot of chores. On Saturday, we went to see the Tigers play the Rockies (unfortunately, they lost 3-4) and then stopped by Mary & Brian's going away party after the game. A nice man behind us offered to take a picture of us at the game. It's not the best pic, but we rarely get photos of us together.... so here it is :-)

On Sunday we got busy cleaning the house .... we have a lot of visitors coming over the next two weeks, so we wanted to get everything looking nice for their arrival. On Monday, we had lunch at Cracker Barrel, then stopped by a local green house and purchased some flowers for our deck. We spent the evening planting the flowers & sanding 2 rocking chairs and a table (and took a short break to grill some delicious kabobs!). Here are a few pics:

Anyone that knows me is aware of my love for calla lilies ... let's hope I don't kill them! :-)

Even have the flag ready for my Graduation Luau!!!

Detroit Tigers Opening Weekend 2009

Jason & I attended our first Tigers game of the season on Easter Sunday. The Tigers played the Texas Rangers for their opening home weekend, and won all three games! Here are a few pics from the game on Sunday:

Our final Tigers game of the season

Jason and I went to our final Tigers game of the season on Tuesday, September 23rd. The Tigers played the Kansas City Royals, and lost 6-0. I really hope they are better in 2009! Here are a few pics from the game:

Even Jason has some Tigers gear now!

On the way home from the game I hit some type of rodent ... I am thinking it was a skunk because my car stunk to high heaven! Whatever it was, it did a lot of damage. It busted the fog light, popped out the grid and even cracked the bumper. So on top of watching the Tigers lose, I get to spend some unplanned cash on fixing my car (keep in mind, I just bought it two months ago). It could have been worse, I could have hit a deer! Gotta look at the bright side, right? :-)

The Tigers lose ..... again!

During Bryce's visit to Michigan we went to the Tigers vs. Angels game on Tuesday September 2nd. The Angels beat the Tigers 5-4. Even though the home team lost, it was still great weather and a nice day for a ball game. Bryce also enjoyed adding another field to his list of "ballparks visited". Here are a few pics:

Twins beat Tigers 6-1

Jason and I went to another Tigers game today. We are becoming quite the baseball fans!!! Finally we had a beautiful day - sunny and in the low 70s. It was a tie game (1-1) until the 7th inning. The Twins got a Grand Slam and another run and the Tigers never came back. It was still a fun time - there's nothing like watching baseball on a warm day! Here are a few pictures from the game .....
What a nice day for BASEBALL!

Tigers beat Yankees 6-5

Jason and I went to the Tigers game tonight .... they happened to be playing Jason's favorite team, the New York Yankees. We arrived at the park early and attempted to get some autographed baseballs .... let's just say A LOT of other people had the same idea, so no luck this time. We had a great time anyway - there's nothing like seeing live baseball in a packed park, what a blast!
Here are a few pictures from the game - it was a bit chilly, but it was still a beautiful day to watch some baseball!!! Don't forget - we have tickets to games throughout the year, we'd love to have you join us.

It's a very nice ballpark - look how green the field is!

Available Tiger Tickets ....

Thought I would list the tickets that we still have available. If you make the trip up here to visit, the game is on us :-)

We have 4 tickets to the following games:

Detroit Tigers vs. Toronto Blue Jays Mon August 11th @ 7pm

Detroit Tigers vs. LA Angels Tues September 2nd @ 7pm

Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals September 23rd @ 7pm

Tiger tickets & a quick trip home ....

I realized I had not posted anything in a few weeks ... as you know, I started working fulltime at the community college a couple of weeks ago. Work and school have been keeping me busy! Of course, Jason is still extremely busy with recruiting duty as well.

Jason and I went in with a few of Jason's co-workers to purchase Detroit Tiger season tickets. If anyone is interested in coming up for a game, let us know. We have tickets all of the way through September .... the September games will be around play-off time, so those games should be really exciting!

I am heading to VA/NC for a short visit in a few weeks. Alison, my "Michigan friend", is coming with me to see the south! We have a busy few days with family dinners, baby showers and of course time spent with friends. Hope you see you all while we are in town!
